Why do people prefer pepperoni pizza only?

Don't Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Pizza Inn, Little Caesars, Papa John, and other pizza places ever run out of pepperoni?



I bet the owners of the pepperoni companies are making big money by selling pepperoni.



Ya know.



If we get one topping deal, everybody wants Pepperoni.



Little Caesars company makes huge profits selling $5 for large pepperoni pizza, ya know.Why do people prefer pepperoni pizza only?
Suggestive advertising.



Its that perfect pepperoni pizza cut so perfectly with stringy cheese stretching perfectly away from the pizza as the slice is lifted ever so perfectly. In reality it doesn't work that way with any pizza, but has become the media norm.



However certain pizza's sell better in certain area's. For example, Thin Crust Pepperoni and Supreme sell like crazy in East Texas.

I usually only eat pepperoni pizzas also. I like pepperoni pizza for the taste. I'm not a huge meat eater but pepperoni holds a special place in my heart.



Pepperoni is actually the most expensive meat on a pizza. Most customers don't know that pepperoni is typically made with high quality beef and pork meat.



I use to work at Papa Johns Pizza and we'd order the same amount of pepperoni as we did mozzarella cheese. Thats just how much pepperoni customers would order. At my location, it was rare to see a plain pepperoni pizza. Instead we received a lot of Extra Pepperoni pizza orders.Why do people prefer pepperoni pizza only?
I just think personally that if you had to order only one topping alone, pepperoni is the most traditional pizza topping. Pepperoni has been popular in te United States even before 1891 when Hormel started making pepperoni.The Romans have been using pepperoni before that. Guess someone along the way figured that it tastes good on bread with cheese and sauce,
Pepperoni is one of the most "original" toppings to put on a pizza (Yeah, cheese is a given)... The reason being like another person said is it's everything that's good (it's cheap, it's pre-cooked, it's flavorful, most of all it's aesthetically pleasing (looks good)).....
Pepperoni is simply the perfect pizza topping, in terms of spice, flavor, and texture. Sausage is alright, though.
