Is the Papa John's 23-cent pizza deal an example of a corporate apology going too far?

Somebody who read about business in a book really came up with this stupid idea. In addition to making the Papa John's employees of Cleveland's lives hell, they've probably lost a lot of money overreacting. I really am not going to avoid a business because they insulted the local gazillionaire player. Why should fans care, Lebron doesn't even treat his own fans in his city well, just look at my past few questions to see why.

I'd still go to Papa John's if they insulted Rip Hamilton or Chauncey. It was just a promo T-Shirt they sponsored anyways, I totally understand, it's nothing to get upset about. Is the Papa John's 23-cent pizza deal an example of a corporate apology going too far?
What up Toucansam,

Yes i thought that the apology was unnecessary and was especially weak. i mean the shirts were made- they were funny and it's like: "Be a man about it."

i don't think that many fans in Cleveland were turned off--- it's ridiculous...

It made them looked like they were afraid of LeBron or something... just ridiculous... and you're right ultimately the Papa John's in D.C. may get a lashing- but the Papa John's employees in Cleveland get bombarded...
