Is the real reason for eating or not eating certain foods while pregnant, so you dont gain a lot of weight?

I understand that some things are hazard like for the baby because bacteria, mercury ect. But really, what is the big deal on junk food or not entirely healthy foods (pizza, sloppy joe, chips, ect ect) i do eat healthy, only drink water and juice. With the occasional snack and slurpee :)



But is it all just because of weight gain?Is the real reason for eating or not eating certain foods while pregnant, so you dont gain a lot of weight?
People mostly avoid foods that make them sick . They eat foods that they crave..

You should eat as healthy as you can but don't deprive yourself of cravings, that's no fun either.Is the real reason for eating or not eating certain foods while pregnant, so you dont gain a lot of weight?
Unless you're like, gaining massively inappropriate amounts of weight, there's no reason to think you need to cut back on how much it feels natural to eat during your pregnancy.



Yeah, junk food all the time is bad, but as long as you're usually eating healthy, pizza and sloppy joes aren't going to hurt you or baby. Basically: three large pizzas a week = bad. three slices of pizza a week = fine.
